Davis talks recent visits

The recruitment of Eric Davis is an important one, and the talented scoring guard from Michigan took a few recent visits.

Four-star shooting guard Eric Davis has been busy with visits recently. The Saginaw (Mich.) Arthur Hill standout was excellent over the summer with The Family, and now he is beginning to really wind things down.

Currently Davis has a final list of Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, Texas, LSU, UNLV, and Kentucky. Over the past three weeks he has seen UNLV and Texas officially and Kentucky unofficially.

The most recent trip was to Austin to see the Longhorns, and Davis came away very impressed.

“I enjoyed my visit to Texas,” said Davis. “It is a real big campus and I like the coaches and the players welcomed me as soon as I got there. It was a good time overall. I liked the whole coaching staff, and it was a real good experience.”

Along with the campus and the coaches, Davis said he thinks he would fit in well and that there is a good plan for him to contribute right away.

“They want me to come in and help the shooting,” explained Davis. “They didn’t shoot it real well last year, so they think I could come in and help a lot. Also they say I could come in and play both on and off the ball, so I could be versatile and fit in.”

The other official visit that Davis took was to UNLV, and he liked that visit as well.

“I didn’t think UNLV was going to be what it was,” noted Davis. “It is a basketball school for sure. It looked like a good fit because Coach (Dave) Rice and his entire staff and players were great.”

The unofficial visit to Kentucky was a little different for Davis since they hadn’t offered him yet, and he isn’t exactly sure of where thins currently stand with the Wildcats.

“It was a good visit,” noted Davis of UK. “They were just telling me they want to continue to develop a relationship. I haven’t personally talked to them since though, so I am not really sure where that stands.”

In terms of what is next, it was thought to be a visit to LSU, but Davis says plans have changed.

“I am actually cancelling the LSU visit for right now,” said Davis. “Nothing else is planned right now. I am not sure I could schedule other visits, but right now I am just ready for school tomorrow.”

Currently Davis is seen as the No. 12 shooting guard and the No. 44 player overall.
