On Campus: Weekend of September 6th

A number of top 100 recruits are taking college visits this weekend. Who is going where? Scout.com has the updated list.

Ohio State hosts key recruits

Thad Matta and his staff at Ohio State have a half dozen recruits headed to campus.

Among the visitors will be 2015 top 100 commits Austin Grandstaff and A.J. Harris. Mickey Mitchell, who recently decommitted from the Buckeyes, is also expected on campus.

Curtis Jones, Justin Roberts and Kaleb Wesson will also visit Ohio State this weekend.

A pair to visit UNC

One of surprise visitors of the weekend is Skal Labissiere.

Labissiere, who ranks No. 3 in the 2015 class, informed Scout.com on Thursday that he would take his first official visit to North Carolina. Labissiere recently cut his list to six. To go with UNC, it also includes Baylor, Georgetown, Kentucky, Memphis and Tennessee.

UNC will also host 2016 big man Edrice Adebayo for an unofficial visit. Adebayo has scholarship offers from North Carolina State, Kansas and a host of others.

FSU has big weekend planned

Florida State will welcome a pair of top 100 recruits to Tallahassee (Fla.) this weekend.

Dwayne Bacon, one of the top wing scorers in the 2015 class, and 6-foot-4 guard Malik Beasley will both be on their campus.

Jean Marc Christ Koumadje, a 7-footer, is also expected to take an official visit.

Other Key Visits

  • Connecticut will have a pair of important recruits on campus. Chris Clarke, a four-star prospect, and massive big man Djery Baptiste will be in Storrs for official visits.

  • Billy Donovan and Florida will host 2016 Georgia native D’Marcus Simonds for an unofficial visit.

  • Jawun Evans, who is down to Illinois, Oklahoma State, Texas and USC, will take an official visit to Illinios this weekend.

  • Abdul Ado is regarded as one of the top shot blockers in the 2016 recruiting class. He will take an unofficial visit to Louisville on Saturday.

  • Four-star big man Elijah Thomas will begin the visit process this coming weekend. He starts things off with LSU this weekend. He’ll then visit Oklahoma State and Illinois the next two weekends.

  • Iowa State will host talented combination forward Miles Bridges for a visit. They are also expected to have Darien Williams in town for an official visit, plus a number of other unofficial visits.

  • Richard Pitino and his staff at Minnesota will have 2015 big man Jonathan Nwankwo and local recruit Jarvis Johnson on campus for visits.

  • Notre Dame has a big weekend planned. Commits Matt Ryan and Elijah Burns will be in town, as will top 100 guard Jalen Coleman and talented shooter Rex Pflueger.

  • Two top 100 recruits will be in Oregon this weekend. Tyler Dorsey, a four-star guard, and Matisse Thybulle are expected to visit officially with the Ducks.

  • SMU has just one visitor planned to visit this weekend, but it’s a big one. 6-foot-4 guard Shake Milton will take an official visit.

  • Temple is expected to have a trio of prospects on campus this weekend. Levan Alston, Trey Lowe and Ernest Aflakpui will visit the Owls.

  • Two weeks ago Texas A&M scored a big pull when Tyler Davis verbally committed. They’ll host him this weekend, as well as his AAU teammate – D.J. Hogg.

  • Top 100 wing Jacob Evans will visit Tulane this weekend. He took a trip to Auburn last weekend.

  • Jalen Brunson started his visit to Villanova on Thursday. His official visit to Illinois was last weekend.

  • Wake Forest will have a pair of targets on campus this weekend. Bryant Crawford, a top 100 lead guard, and bruising big man Samir Sehic will take their official visits.

  • Esa Ahmad will take an official visit to West Virginia this weekend. He’s expected to visit Ohio State next weekend.
