Hoops Opening Day: Coaches hit the road

The Recruiting Period tipped off on Tuesday and Scout.com tracked where over 60 high major coaches are expected to spend the first day of the period.

Tuesday marks a big day in the recruiting world.

The Recruiting Period begins today, which means college coaches can be out evaluating prospects at their schools and conducting in-home visits with perspective recruits. The period runs until November 10th.

While many of the schools employ different strategies about how they approach this Recruiting Period, the objective remains the same. By this time most coaches are checking up on their current commits, showing their face for their top remaining senior targets, conducting in-home visits and starting to evaluate underclassmen.

So which coaches will be where on Tuesday? Scout.com tapped into their sources to see where over 60 high major coaches will spend the first day of the Recruiting Period.
Alabama : Anthony Grant will see commits Donta Hall and Brandon Austin to start off the period

Arizona : Sean Miller will see 2015 target Chance Comanche

Arizona State : Herb Sendek will fly to California to see 2015 targets Chance Comanche and Tyler Dorsey

Auburn : Bruce Pearl will head west on the first day to see commit New Williams and elite 2016 recruit Josh Jackson

Butler : Brandon Miller was at Kyle Guy's morning workout on Tuesday

California : Cuonzo Martin will have in-home visits with his top two targets on Tuesday -- Ivan Rabb and Tyler Dorsey

Cincinnati : Mick Cronin is scheduled to see four-star wing Jacob Evans to tip off the Recruiting Period

Connecticut : Kevin Ollie will fly to see Chris Clarke, who officially visited UConn this past weekend

DePaul : DePaul coach Oliver Purnell will hit Chicago hard on opening day. He plans to stop by Simeon, Morgan Park, Curie and St. Joseph

Duke : Coach K is still in Barcelona, Spain coaching the USA National Team

Florida : Billy Donovan is scheduled to check in on commit KeVaughn Allen on Tuesday

Georgetown : John Thompson III is scheduled to see 2015 guard target Bryant Crawford

Georgia Tech : Brian Gregory is scheduled to watch 7-foot-4 big man Tacko Fall. He'll also head to Montverde Academy

Houston : Kelvin Sampson is scheduled to see Dante Williams

Illinois : John Groce will head stop by Jalen Brunson's high school for one last pitch

Iowa State : Fred Hoiberg will see Amir Coffey and Chris Clarke to open up the Recruiting Period

Kansas : Bill Self has an in-home visit scheduled with Malik Newman on Tuesday

Kansas State : Among the players Bruce Weber is scheduled to see is Dante Williams

Kentucky : Kentucky coach John Calipari will conduct in-home visits with top targets Jaylen Brown and Malik Newman

Louisville : Rick Pitino is scheduled to see 2016 wing target Tyus Battle

LSU : Johnny Jones will see Scout.com's No. 2 prospect and commit Ben Simmons

Marquette : Steve Wojciechowski's top target is Henry Ellenson. He'll be at his school on Tuesday

Memphis : Josh Pastner will stay local, as he'll see Skal Labissiere, K.J. Lawson, Dedric Lawson & others in Memphis on opening day

Michigan State : Tom Izzo is expected to see elite big man Caleb Swanigan

Minnesota : Richard Pitino will see commit Dupree McBrayer, as well as local targets Jarvis Johnson and Amir Coffey

Mississippi State : Rick Ray will see commit Quindarry Weatherspoon, top target Malik Newman, as well Justin James on the opening day

Missouri : Kim Anderson planned to see Jayson Tatum Tuesday morning. He then heads to Huntington Prep to see Thomas Bryant and Ted Kapita. He closes the night with an in-home visit with Isaiah Briscoe's father -- George.

N.C. State : Mark Gottfried is scheduled to see local target Brandon Ingram

Notre Dame : Mike Brey will see 2015 target Jalen Coleman. He visited Notre Dame officially this past weekend.

Ohio State : Thad Matta will see 2015 recruit Esa Ahmad and is slated to see 2016 prospect Braxton Blackwell

Oklahoma : Lon Kruger is scheduled to see Akolda Manyang and Shake Milton

Oklahoma State : Travis Ford has a busy schedule lined up. He plans to see Elijah Thomas, Juwan Evans and Admon Gilder on the opening day

Oregon : Dana Altman will see 2016 point guard prospect Payton Pritchard on the first day

Oregon State : Wayne Tinkle is scheduled to hit Southern California to see commits Stephen Thompson Jr. and Derrick Bruce, as well as M.J. Cage and Gligorde Rankocevic

Penn State : Pat Chambers is busy on day one. He'll see commits Josh Reaves and Joe Hampton, and will make a run through Philly to see Tony Carr, Levan Alston and others

Pittsburgh : Jamie Dixon will fly to see five-star big man Caleg Swanigan on the opening day

Providence : Ed Cooley will check in on 2015 guard target Justin Robinson

Purdue : Matt Painter is scheduled to see C.J. Walker, Kyle Guy and Tacko Fall on the first day of the period

Rutgers : Eddie Jordan is scheduled to do an in-home visit with new commit Corey Sanders. He was scheduled to see Isaiah Briscoe and Chris Silva in the morning

San Diego State: Steve Fisher is scheduled to see M.J. Cage, Rex Pflueger, Jeremy Hemsley and Brodricks Jones

Seton Hall : Kevin Willard will see Roselle Catholic PF Chris Silva and five-star prospect Isaiah Briscoe on opening day

South Florida : Orlando Antigua is finishing up coaching the Dominican Republic National team

Stanford : Johnny Dawkins was at a 6:00 am workout in Illinois to see 6-foot-10 big man Barrett Benson

Syracuse : Jim Boeheim is still with the USA Basketball team in Barcelona, Spain

Tennessee : Donnie Tyndall saw Braxton Blackwell Tuesday morning and then will see Chris Clarke in the evening

Texas : Rick Barnes is scheduled to see 2015 target Kerwin Roach, as well as 2016 post prospect Marques Bolden

Texas A&M : Billy Kennedy will be busy in Texas seeing commits Tyler Davis and D.J. Hogg, as well as targets Elijah Thomas, Kerwin Roach and De'Aaron Fox

Texas Tech : Tubby Smith will fly to Florida to see C.J. Williamson and then stop in Dallas to visit some high schools

UCF : Donnie Jones will watch UCF commit Chance McSpadden and 2016 target Tony Bradley

UCLA : Steve Alford will see five-star big man Ivan Rabb and 2015 guard commit Aaron Holiday on Tuesday

UNC : Roy Williams has a busy day planned, as he'll see local recruits Brandon Ingram and Harry Giles, as well as Skal Labissiere, who finished his official visit to UNC on Sunday

UNLV : Dave Rice will be busy on the opening day. He will see Justin Jackson, Derryck Thornton at Findlay and then Stephen Zimmerman and Zach Collins at Bishop Gorman. He's also scheduled for an in-home visit with Zimmerman

USC : Andy Enfield is scheduled to see Jawun Evans on the first day of the Recruiting Period

Utah : Larry Krystkowiak is scheduled to go to College of Southern Idaho

Vanderbilt : Kevin Stallings was accompanied by his full staff at Nashville (Tenn.) CPA to see Braxton Blackwell's morning workout

Villanova : On Wednesday, Jalen Brunson will decide between Illinois and Villanova, so obviously Jay Wright will be at his high school on Tuesday

Virginia : Tony Bennett was at Kyle Guy's morning workout on Tuesday

Virginia Tech : Buzz Williams is slated to see 2015 big man Kerry Blackshear

Wake Forest : Danny Manning will see elite 2016 recruit Harry Giles on the first day of the Recruiting Period

Washington : Lorenzo Romar will see wing target Matisse Thybulle to tip off the Recruiting Period

Washington State : Ernie Kent is slated to see 2015 wing Rex Pflueger

West Virginia : Bob Huggins had Esa Ahmad on campus this past weekend and he's slated to see him at his high school on Tuesday

Xavier : Xavier head coach Chris Mack will see 2016 big man Joey Brunk, as well as Paul Scruggs and Kris Wilkes
