Guy draws a lot of coaches
During the first few days of the live evaluation period Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence Central four-star guard Kyle Guy was a very popular target. The 6-foot-2 Guy had a tremendous summer with Indiana Elite, and now is among the most heavily scouted prospects in the country. With shooters seemingly in short supply in different areas of the country, many coaches from all over are flocking in to see Guy, and he says it has been incredible. “It’s exhilarating but at the same time I have to focus on just playing,” explained Guy. “Open gym isn’t a huge deal, I know, but it is great to have all of those coaches here to see me.” During the first few days along schools such as Indiana, Butler, Purdue, California, Virginia, Stanford, Iowa State, Colorado, and others all dropped in to see Guy, and more are set to come through within the next week. Early on Guy drew an offer from Indiana and Purdue, but he says he is wide open within the process, and plans on making a few unofficial visits during the year. “I’m making some visits this fall,” noted Guy. “I will be going to Ole Miss, Iowa, Iowa State, and Virginia for sure. I can also always go to Butler’s open gym whenever I want, and Indiana, Purdue, and Xavier are easy to get to as well.” Not too many kids from the Midwest tend to leave the region, but Guy says location won’t be a factor when it comes to him selecting a school. “Distance isn’t a factor at all for me,” said Guy. “It isn’t a big deal, I am just looking for the best place for me.” For Guy currently he is trying to gather as much information as he can about any school that is interested in him. However his biggest focus is on the season at hand and being a leader for his Lawrence Central team. “I still don’t feel like an upperclassman, but I know the expectations are high,” noted Guy. “Me and Mekhi (Biffle) are hoping to lead by example.”
