2017 Intro: Tyler Plummer
A lot of talent has made its way from Canada to the United States prep scene over the past few seasons, and another very good prospect who will emerge this year on U.S. soil is Tyler Plummer. Now at La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere, Plummer is ready to show his significant talent. At 6-foot-3 and around 180 pounds, Plummer is a strong guard with a lot of ability. He shined over the summer on the AAU circuit and also has proven himself in Canada, and now he says he is ready to do the same at La Lumiere. “It has been great here so far,” said Plummer. “I am working hard in the gym and the weight room, and it has been a great experience.” He continued, “For me this year I want to prove myself as one of the best players in the sophomore class. I came down here not only to get better, but to show my talent as well.” Plummer has already been very impressive in early workouts for La Lumiere, but he has a good handle on what he has to work on as the year progresses. “I need to work on my jump shot,” noted Plummer. “I can make it, but it is streaky. Also I know I need to work on communicating more on the defensive end, and just tightening up my game.” Recruiting wise things are still early for Plummer, but a few schools have already begun to step it up and show him attention. “I have interest from DePaul, Northwestern, Harvard, and Stanford,” noted Plummer. For now Plummer isn’t super focused on recruiting, but he does have a good idea of what he will be looking for in a school when the time comes. “I just want to look for a school that has a great program and a place where the coach will push me to be the best player I can be,” noted Plummer. “Also academics will be very important to me.”
