Three showing Cyrus most interest

Now at La Lumiere, Brandon Cyrus is on a big stage, and already three schools are making him a priority recruit.

Four-star shooting guard Brandon Cyrus is now making his home at La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere. After showing his talent over the summer with CIA Bounce, Cyrus is now ready to take his game to a new level and continue to impress college coaches.

“This summer went really well for me,” said Cyrus. “I am focusing on coming off of screens and shooting pull up jumpers. Everybody knows I have the athleticism, so I have worked on my jumper a lot, and I am working on my handles. I am working on getting to certain spots on the floor and just not losing the ball.”

The 6-foot-4 Cyrus is adjusting to the new surroundings for him at La Lumiere, but so far he says it is going well.

“I love it here,” said Cyrus. “It is a big change from Torrey Pines. I am in the weight room all the time, and we do a lot of high intensity stuff.”

Recruiting wise three schools are recruiting Cyrus the hardest at the moment.

“Right now I am hearing the most from Arizona State, San Diego State, and California,” said Cyrus.

About the Sun Devils, Cyrus said, “Arizona State is close to home back in San Diego. Also they have a lot of freedom offensively and I like their style of play.”

San Diego State has been recruiting Cyrus for a while, and he says there is a lot to like about the Mountain West school.

“I like that San Diego State is only 30 minutes from home and that my parents could come and see me all the time,” explained Cyrus. “Also they play a real up and down game with a lot of intensity. They are an up and coming program who wins big games.”

About California, Cyrus said, “California is coming at me really hard. They are one of the top academic schools in the country, and for my family that is huge. Also it is still somewhat close to home so that is good.”

For now Cyrus is in no hurry to make a decision, and is simply focused on improving and having a big junior season on the court.
