Tutu is ready to emerge

Point guards are in short supply in the 2015 class, and the rapidly improving Munis Tutu should command more interest as the year goes along.

Over the past two seasons Munis Tutu has been a very solid player for La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere. The 5-foot-11 floor general continues to grow and develop, and this year he is hoping to have a breakout season.

“The summer went pretty good,” said Tutu. “We didn’t do as well as a team as I would have hoped, but overall I thought I played well.”

He continued, “I have been working on my handling and shooting, and also I have spent a lot of time in the weight room.”

Recruiting wise Tutu says things are still open and he is just now beginning to take a serious look at things.

“Right now I am wide open, but I have been talking to Creighton and Missouri the most,” said Tutu. “I plan to visit both schools, but I have no plans to do so yet.”

About Creighton, Tutu said, “They are telling me they are coming in to see me play, and that they want to keep seeing how I develop.”

Missouri is also in the evaluation stages with Tutu and are looking to check in on him soon.

“Missouri is also telling me that they are looking for a point guard, and that they are looking forward to coming in and seeing me play,” said Tutu.

Though Tutu isn’t close to a decision, he does have a good idea of what he will be looking for in a school when the time does come to make a commitment.

“I am just looking for a place where I like the coaches and where I will be comfortable around the campus,” said Tutu.
