Olesinski plans to wait
Three-star power forward Alex Olesinski is ready for a big senior season at La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere. The skilled 6-foot-8 prospect was a key player on the squad last year, and he is ready for an even bigger role this year. It was an up and down summer for Olesinski, but overall he feels he showed what he is capable of when healthy. “This summer was alright,” said Olesinski. “I was with the Colorado Hawks, and it was different since I didn’t get to practice with them. I had some injuries and stuff, but overall I thought I had a decent summer.” Recruiting wise a lot of schools are in the mix with Olesinski and making sure that he knows they are interested. “I’m hearing from New Mexico, Air Force, Creighton, the whole IVY League and Patriot League, San Diego, Portland, and a couple of other schools,” he noted. While there is major interest, Olesinski says he is no hurry to make his decision, and plans to commit in the spring. “I’m probably going to wait out things this season, and see who offers me and then commit in the spring,” noted Olesinski. While he is in the information gathering process, Olesinski does admit that he would like to take a visit to New Mexico during the season for a game. For now though he is just focused on getting a list, and figuring out which schools fit into what he is looking for. “I am just looking for a good fit, a good basketball program, and a place that has good academics,” he explained. “Also I want to go to a place where I will have the opportunity to play as a freshman.”
