Beginning this past summer, Jonathan Isaac quickly has emerged as one of the most intriguing talents in the Class of 2016. A skinny, rangy 6-8 forward, Isaac is a prototypically modern face-up fourman who excels playing away from the basket.
Isaac showcased a potentially dynamic offensive game during his time on the 2014 travel circuit, and he maintained the pace at last weekend's NTF Workout.
Because he continues to grow and given that he lacks exposure compared to his higher profile peers, his recruitment is only now beginning to blossom.
Isaac enters October with three offers on the table:
In addition to those programs, South Carolina has expressed interest as well.
Isaac needs to get stronger — if he can stop growing, that would help (!) — and become more effective on an outside-in basis, but a player his size who's fluid, coordinated and a proven shooter will continue to attract major attention. His body still resembles that of a younger kid, so just imagine how good he could become as he matures.
"I've been in the weight room a lot, trying to get stronger," Isaac said. "Coaches like my size and ability to shoot and handle the ball."
Not surprisingly, Isaac doesn't appear to be in a hurry to make a decision. He has two full seasons of high school remaining plus another spring and summer on the travel circuit. He currently ranks No. 50 in the junior class and, if anything, appears to be rising even further.
