How do you think you’re stacking up against the competition at mini-camp?
“I think I’m playing good. I see these young guys and it’s not that top seniors and all that, but I think I’m playing how I want to play and I think I’m playing pretty good.”
There are some impressive top tier talents here, is this type of an event a learning process?
“It’s a challenging process going up against these top guys. It puts you to work mentally. It’s not easy playing against this competition. It really helps you develop your all around game.”
You have a big decision coming up, where do things stand with your recruitment?
“I just took my first two visits. I have Kentucky coming up on October 17th. I’m going to sit down with them and enjoy my visit. I’m not going to put too much pressure on myself.”
You recently took a visit to Marquette, how was that trip?
“It was good. It was just nice to go down and visit campus. I’d been there before. But just go on my own and just talk to the coaches and see the blueprint they have for me. It was good.”
What’s it like for you with your brother there and on the team? Does that help them?
“It helps. It’s another bonus for sure. It’s nice because you get the insight he has. You get to hear what he has to say. If they are saying something you can see if it’s true. It’s really helpful.”
You also visited Michigan State recently, what stood out about that visit?
It was good. I got to go see Michigan State’s campus and it was my first time there. It was nice to see Izzo at his place and get a feel for the whole Michigan State staff.”
I know you have the Kentucky visit coming up, what sticks out about the Wildcats to you thus far?
“I just like how they produce guys at the next level. That’s something I want to do early. That’s what I like about them. That’s probably the biggest thing for sure.”
Do you have a timeframe on coming up with a college decision?
“I want to sign during the first signing date, but I don’t know when I’m going to sign.”
