Steenberge Makes Decision

Another Atlantic 10 program has received a commitment. This time, Kevin Steenberge of Clarksville, Md., has made a decision.

Steenberge To Richmond

Kevin Steenberge, a 6-10 member of Baltimore Select, made a decision and will attend Richmond, according to his family.

"He had a lot of offers out and he just said that basically it felt right," Colleen Steenberge, Kevin's mother said. "He liked the program and the fact that they were going into the A-10. He was comfortable with the staff at Richmond and it felt good. He did a lot of thinking one day and he did a checklist and had about 25 different things to consider. It kept coming up Richmond."

Steenberge is the Student Government president at River Hill and was intrigued by the leadership studies program that Richmond has to offer. Steenberge is also playing a new sport for the first time this year as he's set to debut as the punter on the football team. In the past, he's played soccer but according his mom, soccer shoe sizes stop at 15 and the big fella sports a size 17 boot. Getting shoes was a problem.

Steenberge was also interested in St. Joe's, Dayton, LaSalle and Rice.
