Milton's selection is in

Shake Milton, a talented combo guard out of Oklahoma, made his college choice on Wednesday.

Larry Brown and SMU secured a commitment from one of their top targets on Wednesday.

Shake Milton, a four-star guard out of Owasso (Okla.) High, picked the Mustangs over Oklahoma and Indiana at a press conference at his school. Milton took official visits to all three schools.

SMU assistant K.T. Turner was the primary contact in the Milton recruitment.

As a junior, Milton was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Oklahoma and averaged nearly 28 points, 6.3 rebounds and four assists a game, while leading Owasso to the state tournament.

Milton played with MOKAN Elite in the EYBL and through 21 games averaged 11.8 points, five rebounds and 4.1 assists a game.

A skilled guard, Milton, who stands 6-foot-4, can be used both on and off the ball. He handles the ball well, has a good feel for the game and makes good decisions. He’s also a capable scorer off the bounce and can make catch and shoot jump shots.

Milton is SMU's third four-star recruit in as many seasons. They also signed five-star point guard Emmanuel Mudiay last season, but he opted for a professional contract overseas.

SMU's 2015 recruiting class now consists of Milton, Sedarick Barefield and Jarrey Foster.
