2016 Roby makes early pledge
Tim Miles and Nebraska have an early pledge for their 2016 class. Isaiah Roby, a 6-foot-7 wing out of Dixon (Ill.) High, gave a verbal commitment to Miles shortly after the Nebraska coach watched him work out Tuesday evening. “From first day I met coach Miles, we just had a connection,” Roby told Scout.com. “He seemed liked a coach that I would love to play for and be around.” “Having someone that you want to be around like him is a plus,” he said. “He’s energetic and he’s just a good guy. He has a bunch of faith in me and my abilities and more than any other coach at that level.” Roby, who has taken two unofficial visits to Nebraksa, said he also had interest from Creighton, Iowa, Northern Iowa and Northwestern. “Ever since the time I went on the visit I knew that was somewhere I wanted to be,” Roby said. “I like the people there like coach [Kenya] Hunter, coach [Jim] Molinari and coach [Chris] Harriman." “I tried to picture myself somewhere else and I just couldn’t,” Roby explained. “I‘ve been wanting to do this for a while. It just felt like home when I was there.” Roby averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocks a game as a sophomore at Dixon. Roby is Nebraska’s first pledge of the 2016 class.
