Johnson Switches Schools

Ian Johnson, a 6-9 big man, is heading to Oak Hill for his senior season. He currently has some serious interest from a few of the major academic schools and will begin taking some visits early in September.

Davidson Holds Slight Early Lead

Last year at Charlottesville (VA) Albemarle, center Ian Johnson averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds. He was a first-team all-region player. This year, he's taking his game to another level. Johnson has enrolled at Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill.

"I did it for the preparation," Johnson said. "It wasn't so much the college exposure but my high school team wasn't that big and at Oak Hill I'll be playing with NBA prospects."

Johnson played two seasons ago with Boo Williams on the AAU circuit. His school list includes Davidson, Richmond, Pennsylvania, William & Mary, Holy Cross, Boston University, Yale and James Madison. He's going to visit Davidson the first or second week in September. Penn will get a visit by the end of next month and so will Holy Cross.

"If there was a leader, I would say it was Davidson but it's not really distinct. That'll change after I meet all the coaches."
