2017 Intro: Joey St. Pierre
In this day and age most post players are trying to get out on the perimeter and masquerade as guards. Fortunately Richmond (Ill) Burton standout Joey St. Pierre is not one of them. The class of 2017 center likes to use his size and dominate on the low block. At 6-foot-8 and roughly 250 pounds with huge hands and wide shoulders, St. Pierre is tough for most kids his age to deal with in the post. He has proven it at every level that he is someone who can dominate down low, and he is continuing to work hard to improve. "I think I use my body well and push people around in the post, and also I think I score pretty well down low," said St. Pierre. He continued, "I am focusing on being more aggressive and also on my defense. I have worked on my footwork and quickness." Recruiting wise things are just beginning to pick up for St. Pierre who is sure to attract a lot of college attention this year. "Nebraska came in, Kansas State, Evansville, and a few other schools have been by to see me," noted St. Pierre. "Also I have visited Wisconsin." About the trip to Wisconsin, St. Pierre said, "I saw the campus and it was really cool. I liked that trip a lot, and it was a good visit." Currently St. Pierre is viewed as the No. 12 center in the class of 2017.
