Neufeld commits to SLU

Matt Neufeld made his college pick on Thursday. He's headed to St. Louis University.

Matt Neufeld had his list of schools narrowed to St. Louis University and St. Mary's. Then he received a phone call from Duke last week.

After initially debating on waiting out the process, Neufeld opted to go ahead and end his recruitment on Thursday. Neufeld committed to the SLU, per DRIVE coach Pasha Bains.

"Matt had a great visit to SLU and has a great relationship with the staff," Bains told "Matt was very patient and diligent about the process. He had many options even as a 2014 but at the end took his time and found a great fit."

"He's a great student and has a lot of upside as a player," Bains added. "St. Louis is getting a good one."

Neufeld is a 6-foot-10, 230-pound post player. He's a quality area rebounder, has a good set of hands, nice scoring touch and is a capable shot maker from mid-range.

Neufeld is a post-graduate prospect that is finishing up his high school career at Bel Aire (Kans.) Sunrise Christian.
