Poyser commits to UNLV

UNLV added their first verbal commitment in 2015 on Saturday. Jalen Poyser committed to the Runnin Rebels.

Jalen Poyser, of Orangeville Prep out of Canada, verbally committed to UNLV on Saturday.

CIA Bounce coach Tony McIntyre confirmed the commitments news to Scout.com. Poyser visited UNLV last weekend and also took a recent visits to St. Bonaventure and Rhode Island. He also entertained interest from California, Oklahoma, Creighton, Washington State, Michigan State, Missouri, St. Mary's and a host of others.

"He just felt that it was a situation where he could go in there and play," McIntyre said. "Coach [Dave] Rice lets his guards play. He obviously has a good relationship with coach Simon, who he played with at Findlay prep."

"He just felt comfortable there and thinks he can be the most successful there," McIntyre added.

A 6-foot-4 guard, Poyser is regarded as a four-star prospects and as the No. 29 shooting guard in the 2015 class.

Poyser is UNLV's first commitment of the 2015 class.
