Glen Turner Has Two Favorites

Glen Turner, a solid post player from Northern California, is drawing attention from a number of schools in the west. Two schools from the WCC and Big West, though, appear to be in the lead for his services...

Glen Turner, 6-8 PF Campbell (Calif.) WC Overfelt, is somewhat of sleeper nationally, but West Coast schools are well aware of him. We spoke with Bobby Bramlett, Glen's coach on the West Valley Basketball Club team, and he gave us an update on Glen's recruitment.

Coach Bramlett told us Glen has narrowed his list to UC Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Loyola Marymount, Portland, Brown and Stanford. The two leaders at this time are UC Santa Barbara and Santa Clara.

Turner has in-home visits scheduled with Santa Barbara (9-8), Santa Clara (9-9) and Loyola Marymount (9-10). He also has official trips scheduled with Santa Barbara and Santa Clara.

Turner has already taken an unofficial visit to Stanford, but Coach Bramlett said that the Cardinal would prefer to wait on Turner until spring and it's unlikely that Turner will do that. Coach Bramlett said that Turner would almost certainly sign in the fall.

Coach Turner told us that the two primary factors in Turner's decision would be campus environment and job placement opportunities after college. He also said that Turner would like to study electrical engineering in school.
