Dillard to wait until spring

Do not expect Davon Dillard to make an early college decision.

Now at Centereach (NY) Our Savior New Amerian, combo forward Davon Dillard is ready for a big senior season. The highly athletic 6-foot-6 Dillard says things are going well, and his recruitment is very busy.

“It has been a great experience already and I have met a lot of great people,” said Dillard of his time at Our Savior. “It is a good school, the coaches have been great to me. Now I am hoping to show everybody what I can do and earn more scholarships.”

He continued, “I’ve been working on my perimeter skills as well as attacking. I want to show how versatile I am and how I can knock the open jumper down or dribble pull up down.”

Recruiting wise a lot of new schools have entered the mix for Dillard as he remains open in the process.

“I’m hearing from Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, LSU, California, Oregon, Providence, and a few other schools,” said Dillard.

College basketball’s early signing period begins on Wednesday, but Dillard will not be signing early. Instead he hopes to make some visits during the season.

“I don’t have any visits set up, but I am hoping to make some visits this month,” explained Dillard.

When it does come time to choose a school, the three-star forward knows what he will be looking for.

“I’m looking for a school that can get me ready, and somewhere that I have a great relationship with the coach,” said Dillard.

Expect interest to pick up for Dillard who will have a lot of eyes on him during the high school season.
