McLaughlin set to announce
A decision is coming soon for 6-foot-3, 165-pound Peninsula (Wash.) Gig Harbor combo guard JaQuori McLaughlin. The 2016 prospect, once committed to Oregon State, holds offers from Washington, Washington State, Memphis and Oregon State's new staff. According to Gig Harbor coach Jake Jackson, the decision will be on Nov. 29. "(JaQuori) has been blessed to have over 20 schools visiting, calling and coveting his services," Jackson said. "After interacting with the different coaching staffs and taking unofficial visits, he is taking this time to reflect and finalize his decision." While McLaughlin at one time looked to be a spring decision, the new plan is to end his recruitment to focus on basketball. "He decided to move up his decision so he can focus on academics, training and leading his high school team on a state title run," Jackson said. "(JaQuori) is thankful and humbled to be in the position to have choices." McLaughlin is Scout.com's 60th ranked prospect in the 2016 class.
