Simonds picks MSU

D'Marcus Simonds' college decision is in. He plans to play in the SEC.

D'Marcus Simonds, a 6-foot-3 guard out of Gainesville (Ga.) High, made an early college choice on Tuesday.

The 2016 recruit announced via Twitter that he has verbally committed to Mississippi State. Simonds also had interest from Kansas State, Georgia Tech and a host of other schools.

Simonds played with the Atlanta Express during the summer. Simonds is a true combination guard. He's a solid ball handler, a good scorer attacking the rim and is able to spend time on the ball when needed.

During the post-July 2016 top 100, Simonds checked in at No. 76 overall and No. 15 at the shooting guard position.

Simonds is Mississippi State's first verbal pledge of the 2016 class.
