New schools on 2015 PG Carter

Traci Carter, a top 100 point guard, picked up a new scholarship offer and new interest from high major schools.

After sitting out the entire spring and summer with a torn meniscus, Traci Carter is starting to gain more attention.

St. John’s recently offered him a scholarship, while California, Louisville and Memphis have expressed their interest as well.

“Things are really starting to heat up,” Carter’s mentor Donnie Carr told Scout.

On Tuesday, Rick Pitino and a Louisville assistant watched him work out at Burlington (N.J.) Life Center Academy.

“I talked to Traci and he thought he had a really good practice,” Carr said. “Afterwards coach Pitino had a lot great things to say about him.

According to Carr, Carter has been wanting to hear from Louisville throughout his high school career.

“Honestly because Pervis Ellison is Traci’s coach, and he played at Louisville, that was always a dream school for Traci,” Carr said. “He always talked about if coach Pitino got involved and started recruiting him he could see himself playing there.”

“That’s his style,” he added about Louisville. “He feels like it’s a dream school for him and he’s really excited about it.”

SMU, Tennessee, Auburn, Providence, Tulsa, Dayton and others have also shown interest in Carter.
