Doughty lands at St. John's
It is no secret that the St. John's Red Storm need guards, and a lot of them in the 2015 class. Well they got a start with that on Tuesday evening when Samir Doughty picked the Red Storm. Doughty is an intriguing 6-foot-3 shooting guard who can also slide down to the point guard at times because of his ability to handle the ball and solid athleticism. Doughty had a very solid campaign as a sophomore and got himself on to the nation radar before stalling a bit as a junior, still he has a diverse skill set and is excellent at getting to the rim. In fact not too many guards have the same type of handle that Doughty does, and then he is a solid passer to go along with it. Now if he improves his jumper he will be an even better, and someone who could surprise when he gets to campus. For now this is the first commitment for St. John's, and the Red Storm are banking on several more following Doughty in the door.
