Ohio State lands early pledge

Ohio State offered and got a commitment from one of the youngest commitments in school history.

Hailing from Columbus (Ohio) Upper Arlington, Dane Goodwin grew up just minutes from the Ohio State campus. Even before he ever played a game of high school basketball the Buckeyes decided to offer the prospect, and that led to an early pledge.

At roughly 6-foot-4 with a reported very impressive shooting stroke, Thad Matta and his coaching staff decided to offer Goodwin during the fall, and according to the young prospect he committed on Monday.

"Honored to accept an offer from Coach Matta and OSU staff, I have committed to play basketball at THE Ohio State University," said Goodwin.

Goodwin is the son of a Dayton Flyer legend and current Capital University Head Coach Damon Goodwin.

Obviously this is the first commitment for Ohio State in the 2018 class.
