Henson has options
One of the top shooters in Southern California is 6-foot-7, 185-pound Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany forward Daron Henson. The 2016 prospect has steadily made progress over the last couple years and his stepfather, Mike Perrow, is happy with his development. “It’s coming along well,” Perrow said. "He’s working hard on his game and is in the gym at 6:00am every morning. “He’s more confident than he’s ever been and he’s starting to be a leader. He’s been more versatile offensively. He’s starting to put the ball on the floor a little bit better.” According to Perrow, San Diego State, USC, UCLA, Colorado, Oregon and Arizona State are the schools recruiting Henson the hardest. The next step in Henson’s recruitment is to get a close look at some of the schools working hard on him. “He’s going to try and take some unofficial visits,” Perrow said. “Hopefully between now and the spring he can visit Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon and San Diego State. “I think he could be a good fit at each of those schools for different reasons. He brings something different to each one of those teams. “San Diego State is athletic but could use shooters, at Arizona State he could come in there and get time right away and Colorado loses a lot of people in his class.” Perrow said that Henson hopes to make a decision before his senior season, and there are a number of aspects of a program that the family will be looking at. “Relationship with the coaches, environment, academic background and playing time,” he said.
