Cook has Big XII visit in mind

Four-star power forward Tyler Cook has one visit in mind so far this season.

Four-star forward Tyler Cook emerged this summer running with the St. Louis Eagles, and now again he is having an excellent junior season for St. Louis (Missouri) Chaminade. The 6-foot-8 forward has changed his body, and now is thinking of an unofficial visit.

Chaminde is off to a good start this year, and Cook along with five-star prospect Jayson Tatum have things going well.

“The season is going well,” said Cook. “We are getting better every day. We are playing great competition and that is helping us get better as a team and get tougher. I think we are growing a lot as a team, and we are a lot better than we were last year.”

Cook is clearly in better shape than he has been in the past, and he feels he is improving his game.

“I think I am more aggressive now on the offensive end,” said Cook. “I have always been good on defense where I bring energy, but now I think I am picking up my energy and aggressiveness on offense.”

Schools such as Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Florida, Iowa State, Kansas State, Miami, Purdue, and others are involved in the Cook recruitment, but he says right now he is taking things slowly.

“I haven’t paid too much attention to stuff with the season going on and finals happening and everything, but everybody is still coming at me hard,” said Cook.

He continued, “I am going to Iowa State when we get back in town pretty soon, but other than that I don’t have any plans.”

When asked about Iowa State, Cook said, “We have a really strong relationship. I keep in touch with Coach (Fred) Hoiberg and Coach Matt (Abdelmassih). They have a really strong program and great players. I am just looking forward to seeing a great game and seeing them play hard.”

Do not expect any kind of quick decision from Cook who is the No. 11 power forward and the No. 72 player overall in the class of 2016 class.
