Wilson emerging late

Damian Wilson is using a strong senior year to see his recruitment pick up.

One of the top unsigned seniors in Southern California comes from Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft in 6-foot-4, 190-pound combo guard Damian Wilson.

The 2015 prospect has good size, uses his vision to create for others, but also is a scorer that can play off the ball and collect points from all three levels.

Wilson, who claims he's grown a couple inches in the last year, prides himself in being a versatile player.

"I pretty much do it all," Wilson said. "I facilitate, I get my teammates the ball and I play defense really well.

"I do everything across the board but most of all I can really score the ball. I enjoy facilitating and making plays for my teammates."

There's definitely been progress in Wilson's game over the last year, which he attributes to a lot of hard work.

"I'm constantly in the gym with my dad, getting shots up and trying to get better nonstop," he said.

Marquette, LMU, California, Oregon State, San Diego State and San Francisco are all showing Wilson attention, and he has an idea of what he'll be looking for in a program.

"I just want to go somewhere I fit with the coaching staff and we all bond together and we're on the same page," he said.

"Close to home is great but wherever I feel I'm comfortable with the coach and it feels like home, that's where I'll go".
