Three recruiting Childs hardest
One of the top prospects in Utah is 6-foot-7, 230-pound South Jordan Bingham post Yoeli Childs. The 2016 prospect is a skilled interior player who can hit jumpers or use his footwork and motor to score under the rim or with his hook shot. "I’ve got pretty good post moves inside, I try to bang, get rebounds and contest shots," Childs said. "I’m working on my perimeter game. I’m getting quicker on the perimeter but I need to keep working on that. I need to get better at beating guys off the dribble too." Childs holds offers from Idaho State, Utah State and Arizona State with Utah, BYU, Gonzaga, Stanford, Oregon State, Davidson, California and Boise State showing interest. Three of those schools are working the hardest on him. "Boise State, Arizona State and Stanford are probably recruiting me the hardest," he said. Childs, who said he wants to make a decision before his senior season, has an idea of what will be important to him in a program. "I’m looking for a good school I can get a good education and play," he said.
