Zimmerman talks process

The focus for Stephen Zimmerman is on the season with recruiting in the back of his mind.

Five-star center Stephen Zimmerman is one of the elite uncommitted recruits in the 2015. The Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman standout is coming down the stretch of his recruitment, but the focus for him remains the same.

The 6-foot-11 Zimmerman is having a tremendous senior season and is focused on winning a state title. At this point he is taking everything in stride recruiting wise, and he and his family have a specific mindset on how they are handling things.

“The coaches are good with contacting us so we are focused on the season and winning better,” said Zimmerman. “At the end of the season is when we are going to focus on the college stuff as a family.”

Although he has a final list of Arizona, UCLA, Kansas, UNLV, and Kentucky, Zimmerman knows that he needs to continue to improve and says that is a major focus right now.

“I have been working on everything,” said Zimmerman. “Free throws, post work, ball handling, just everything, but the biggest thing is the mental aspect of the game and improving there.”

With the focus on winning a state title and improving his game, Zimmerman is clearly also worried about his recruitment and his future. When the time does come for him to seriously think about that after the season, Zimmerman knows the decision won’t be easy.

“It is going to be a real difficult decision,” said Zimmerman. “All of the schools are great options and the coaches have been good to me, so it will be tough.”

Currently Zimmerman is the No. 3 center in the class and the No. 7 player overall.
