Five-star Rabb discusses recruitment
Ivan Rabb would like to end his recruitment soon, but that doesn’t appear likely. “Honestly, I want to do it as soon as possible,” Rabb told Scout after scoring 24 points in a win over Wheeler at the Hoop Hall Classic. “Whenever I know where I want to go, I want to just do it.” But Rabb, who is considering Arizona, California, Kansas, Kentucky and UCLA, still has official visits to take. “From here I just want to take my next three visits and get this out the way,” he said. “This is a long process, but I want to try and visit every school before I make my decision and a smart decision.” Rabb took an official visit to Kentucky for their Blue/White game prior to the season and most recently visited Arizona in early January. “The visit to Arizona was really nice,” Rabb explained. “The thing that stood out the most was they sold out the game without the students even being on campus. Everybody from Tucson came out. I think they had 14,500. It was packed.” Originally Rabb was planning to visit UCLA at the end of January, but that date fell through. “I’m going to reschedule it,” he said. “I’m not sure when it’s going to be.” Although Cuonzo Martin just arrived at California in the spring, among the coaches recruiting Rabb, he’s managed to build the best relationship. “I have the best relationship with Cuonzo Martin from Cal,” Rabb said. “With him being so close I can just go up there and workout if I want. I can talk to the players. I can do whatever I want. I like that it’s 15 minutes away from home.” How will that relationship factor into his decision? “Eventually I plan to be in the NBA if I continue to work hard and stay humble,” he said. “So that’s part of my descision, but if I make the NBA I might not be at home. So it’s part of my decision, but I also have to grow up.”
