“Recruiting wise, it’s really been open. It’s the same set schools. I’ve done a couple of unofficial visits, but after the season is when I’ll set things.” Do you have a plan with how you want to figure it all out?
“I know after the season stops I want to take a few unofficials again and narrow it down then. I want to talk to the coaches and see who is leaving after March Madness.” Which schools do you want to see again?
“All of them of course. I get to see the in-state schools a lot, so I want to get back out to Kansas, Kentucky and UCLA.” Will you definitely visit those three again?
“Definitely.” You took your visits before the early signing period, but opted to wait it out. What was the hold up?
“Of course, I didn’t find a comfort level then. During the summer Kentucky, Kansas and UCLA all three programs came on the scene and all of them offered me. When I got out I had visited all the in-state schools, but when I got out I saw what they have to offer.” Is there a head coach that you feel like you’ve developed the best relationship with?
“Of course, the guys that have been on me my whole high school career, coach [Mark] Gottfried and coach [Roy] Williams. I developed a good relationship with them. I developed a good relationship with coach K. All those guys, I have good relationships, at the end of the day it’s going to be hard to say no to each one of those schools, but when I’m 100-percent sure, it’ll be fine.” Is there a pull for you to stay in-state?
“Not really, I’m just looking for the best fit for me. Any program that can make me better and get me to the next level after college basketball.” Carlton Bragg recently committed to Kansas, does that make them more appealing?
“Of course it’s appealing. That’s my guy and I love the way he plays. I love Kansas. My Kansas visit was great. When I went out there I developed a great realsitonhip with Norm Roberts and Bill Self.” Break down your finalists, what do you like about each one?
“North Carolina State, they’ve been recruiting me for a very long time. Of course, they need a big wing like all the schools. They are in a good position. We talked about the T.J. Warren type role and that’s very good for me.” “North Carolina, of course they need a shooter and I could dive right in and be able to score the ball.” “Duke is a great program with great fans. They have good people around the campus.” “Kansas is a basketball city. I loved it out there when I went for midnight madness and I love everything about coach Roberts and Bill Self.” “Kentucky is just the basketball world. They have great guys everything time they come in.” “UCLA, I love everything about the coaches. I’ve developed great relationships and it’s California.”
