Olesinski thinking visits
Three-star power forward Alex Olesinski has raised his game as a senior at La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere. The 6-foot-9 Olesinski continues to make strides, and high-major schools continue to show him significant attention. About the season so far, Olesinski said, “I think the season is going good. We started off the season strong. We have now gotten used to playing with Isaac (Humphries) and playing through the post, and now we are clicking a lot more.” He continued about his own play, “I am being more aggressive and more confident. I know that is what people have said about me is that I was passive, so I have worked on that as well as my shooting and rebounding.” Recruiting wise things have really picked up for Olesinski who is beginning to think about making visits. “I am hearing from Arizona State, Boston College, UCLA, UNLV, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tulsa, Washington State, and a couple of other schools,” he explained. Olesinski continued, “I am probably going to make some visits in the spring. I know I plan on visiting Arizona State, UCLA, UNLV, and Boston College. I am hoping to get in one more, but I don’t know yet.” Arizona State has made Olesinski a clear priority recruit, and he likes the Sun Devils program quite a bit. “I have a great relationship with the coaches,” he explained of ASU. “I like how they play and how they treat me. They are really honest with me and they appreciate how I play, so I like that.” Also Boston College has been extremely active in recruiting Olesinski. “I like Boston College,” he said. “They like skilled big guys which I am, and they think I can help stretch the floor, so that is good.” Now UCLA is beginning to show more interest, and he likes the Pac 12 program. “The interest is new, but they like my skillset and my size, and want to see me more and continue to talk to me, so I like them,” he noted of the Bruins. For now no decision from Olesinski is expected until he has a chance to make his official visits.
