Process beginning for McLean

It is the beginning of the recruiting process for combo guard Unique McLean.

Class of 2016 combo guard Unique McLean has a ton of upside. Being an elite athlete with the ability to score and handle the ball, McLean could be firmly on the high-major radar when it is all said and done, but for now he is just beginning his recruiting process.

Playing at Granby (Mass.) MacDuffie School, McLean is being asked to handle the load as a point guard this year on a team with a lot of talent. So far McLean says it has been an adjustment, but things are going well.

“This year started slow, but we have picked it up,” said McLean. “I am playing pretty well right now. I can do better with my ball handling, but overall I think I’m playing pretty well.”

He continued, “Really I have been working on becoming a point guard and taking on a leadership role with the team.”

Recruiting wise things are just starting to pick up for McLean.

“I am hearing from Iona, Saint Louis, and some other schools, no real high-major schools right now,” said McLean.

He continued about the process, “I am thinking about things, but I am just in the beginning of the recruiting process right now, so I am a long way from making a decision.”

When the time does come for McLean to make a decision, he does know what type of system he will be looking for in a school.

“Definitely I like a system that is up and down that would allow me to show my athleticism and make plays on the break,” said McLean.
