Carter commits to Marquette

Traci Carter's college choice is in. The Burlington (N.J.) Life Center Academy standout will play in the Big East.

Traci Carter is headed to Marquette.

Carter, who was recognized as one of the best available point guards in the 2015 class, picked Marquette over Xavier, Connecticut and a host a of other high major schools.

"The thing that separated Marquette from all the other universities was that Traci was recruited directly by coach Wojo and got a chance to establish a rapport with him," Carter's mentor Donnie Carr told Scout.

"[Also] the opportunity that Traci will have to make an immediate impact and run the show from day one and Marquette's recruiting class for 2015 is on the best in the country," Carr added.

Carter took an official visit to Marquette this past weekend.

A tough, hardnosed competitor, Carter is quick and aggressive. He has good lateral quickness, takes pride in his defense and is capable of heating up from a long distance.

Steve Wojciechowski now has five pledges in 2015 recruiting class. Carter joins Henry Ellenson (No. 7), Matt Heldt (No. 60) and Haanif Cheatham (No. 85) to make up their current class.

Carter is regarded as Scout's No. 18 point guard and is a four-star prospect.
