Colorado adds guard from Belgium

Thomas Akyazili, of Belgium, offered up a verbal commitment.

Colorado added a 2015 guard early Sunday morning.

Thomas Akyazili, of Belgium, confirmed his commitment to Scout.

"I picked Colorado because I felt that was the best option for me," Akyazili said. "I loved the campus, facilities, staff and team. I felt like I can have an impact there and I think that is the best way for me to grow as a person and a basketball player."

Akyazili took an official visit to St. John's before opting for Colorado.

"After my visits it was pretty clear to me, going to Colorado or turning pro in Antwerp," Akyazili said. "I think they need someone who can make plays for others with the ball, I think I can help them with that."

Akyazili averaged 15.1 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds at the U18 European Championship this past year. Akyazili also was a participant at Under Armour's inaugural Stephen Curry Camp in June.

Colorado now has a pair of pledges in the 2015 class. Kenan Guzonjic, a junior college standout committed earlier this week.
