Simonds back on the board
Things looked to be turning around on the recruiting trail for Mississippi State under Rick Ray, but on Saturday the school decided to part ways with Ray. The fallout quickly was felt on the recruiting trail with four-star wing D'Marcus Simonds. "I have decided to re-open my recruitment," announced Simonds. "I had previously decided to commit to Mississippi State because of my relationship with Coach Ray and his staff." The 6-foot-3 Simonds is a Buford (Ga.) product who impressed during the spring and summer and found his way into the top 100 as the No. 80 prospect. He is someone who is a good athlete and can really score. Before committing to Mississippi State, schools such as Connecticut, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, and Memphis had all extended official scholarship offers. Now the class of 2016 wing is likely to be an extremely valuable commodity on the recruiting trail, and should gain even more attention.
