Stone commits to Maryland

Diamond Stone, a five-star center, made his college choice on Friday.

Mark Turgeon scored the biggest commitment of his tenure at Maryland on Friday.

Diamond Stone, a 6-foot-10, 255-pound center, gave Maryland a verbal commitment. Stone picked the Terrapins over Oklahoma State, Wisconsin and Connecticut for his pledge.

Maryland now has a pair of commitments in their 2015 recruiting class. Stone joins Junior College guard Jaylen Brantley to make up their current class.

Stone is regarded as the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2015 class. Stone is a tremendous offensive talent. He has very good touch in the paint, can score over either shoulder, is capable of making jump shots and is a good area rebounder.
