Florida State adds JUCO guard

Benji Bell, a JUCO guard, informed Scout he has committed to Florida State.

Benji Bell is headed to Florida State.

"I just felt like it was right fit for me and my family," Bell told Scout.com.

A 6-foot-4 guard out of Northwest Florida State, Bell committed to Leonard Hamilton's school while on an official visit.

Bell picked FSU over strong interest from Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Tulsa, Memphis, Houston and St. Louis.

"I feel like I can come in and be a great point guard," Bell said. "I have a lot of IQ. I feel like I can come in and fit right in and shoot the ball. I can dish it out to the guys right here."

Bell helped lead Northwest Florida State to a NJCAA national championship this past season. Bell averaged 17.4 points a game and shot 44.5-percent from three.

Bell is the fifth 2015 recruit to commit to FSU. He joins five-star wing Dwayne Bacon as well as Malik Beasley, Jean Marc Chris Koumadje and Terance Mann to make up their current recruiting class.
