Fultz talks visit and offer

Four-star Markelle Fultz added another big offer over the weekend.

It was a big weekend for four-star shooting guard Markelle Fultz. The Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha product had an excellent showing at the Metro 60 Challenge, and then made an unofficial visit and picked up a big offer.

After dominating the Metro 60 Challenge on Saturday, Fultz made his way to Charlottesville, Virginia on Sunday to see the Cavaliers. On the visit Fultz picked up an offer from UVa, and came away impressed with what he saw.

“It was a blessing to pick up another offer,” said Fultz. “I’m just honored to receive an offer from a great school like Virginia.”

The offer was of course big for Fultz, but he was also impressed with the coaches and the entire campus.

“I really liked Coach (Tony) Bennett,” Fultz explained. “He seems like a great coach and the campus was also very nice.”

The Virginia offer is just the latest for Fultz who also has offers from schools such as Maryland, Georgetown, Xavier, Cincinnati, Arizona, West Virginia, Memphis, and Miami. Also programs such as Kansas, Louisville, and Kentucky are showing interest.

At this point Fultz says he isn’t aware of any other unofficial or official visits being planned.

This visit came on the heels of his dominant showing at the Metro 60 Challenge for the top players in the Washington DC area.

About performing well against the best in the area, Fultz, said, “It was great to play with against people I might not get to play against in the high school or AAU season. I was just happy to be able to play in this event and it just shows that my hard work is paying off to be named one of the top players in the event.”

Fultz plans on running with the Under Armour sponsored DC Blue Devils on the AAU circuit.
