Briscoe excited about Kentucky
Kentucky landed one of the top guards in the nation in 6-foot-1, 185-pound Roselle (N.J.) Catholic 2015 shooting guard Isaiah Briscoe. The five-star prospect has enjoyed watching the Wildcats’ undefeated season and is definitely having no regrets about his future college. “Kentucky is absolutely the spot I wanted to go to,” Briscoe said. “I want to go to Kentucky, put on a Wildcats uniform, play for Coach Cal (John Calipari) and see what happens from there. “ Seeing UK’s historical season hasn’t had any impact on the way Briscoe feels about Kentucky. “Even if they weren’t in this situation, I would still know I made the right choice,” he said. “Coach Cal wouldn’t be defined by this one year. Regardless of the year they’re having this season, I know made the right choice.” There will certainly be some early departures off Kentucky’s current roster and Briscoe knows he’ll have the chance to come in and get early minutes. “It’s the opportunity of a lifetime,” Briscoe said. “All of the fans under Coach Cal, playing in front of thousands of fans, the prestigious program of Kentucky, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.” Briscoe will learn what is expected of him next season when he arrives to Lexington. “I don’t know but we’ll find out when I get there,” he said. “It’s whatever I can do when I get there.” There’s no shortage of confidence from Briscoe in what he can do to help his team. “I bring everything to the table,” he said. “I can rebound, I can pass, score and be a leader.”
