Jackson adds one school to list

Josh Jackson decided to make his list of schools include a tenth team.

Five-star forward Josh Jackson as usual put on a show at the Under Armour Association event in New Orleans. That wasn’t news worthy, as every time Jackson steps on the floor he is a must see attraction. However he did make some news when he decided to expand his school list by one.

The 6-foot-7 Jackson is one of the best, if not the single best, athletes in all of high school basketball. Now he is out to prove just how good he is while running with 1 Nation all spring and summer long.

“I just want to help my team win as many games as possible and show that we are a good team that plays together, and plays the right way,” said Jackson. “I want us all to get better as the spring progresses.”

With that coaches are going to come watch, and initially Jackson narrowed his list of schools down to nine with Louisville, Arizona, UCLA, Kansas, Michigan State, Duke, Kentucky, NC State, and North Carolina making the list. Now however one more school has been added.

“I actually have 10 schools now,” said Jackson. “I don’t know what I was thinking not putting Auburn in there. Those 10 schools I think all would be a great fit for me, and I don’t think any school that I choose to go to I would regret.”

He continued, “I just want to go to a school where the coaches would care about me and the team, and a place where I can win a national championship.”

According to Jackson the reason Auburn was added was after some research he did on Head Coach Bruce Pearl.

“I just love the coaching staff at Auburn,” said Jackson. “I did a lot of research on Coach Pearl when he was at Tennessee. Even before he got the super talented guys, he was always in the top five in the nation, and I like the way he makes his guys play.”

He added, “I feel like I would be a good asset to the team with how they play, and that I would thrive under his supervision.”

One school that has the advantage of being close to Jackson for a long time is Michigan State.

“Coach (Tom) Izzo and the Spartans, they just turn into a different team during March Madness,” said Jackson of MSU. “I grew up a State fan. My mom and I would always go at it when Michigan and Michigan State played in football or basketball. She would root for Michigan and I would root for State.”

He continued about the Spartans, “I remember I was 11 when she took me to my first game at Michigan State. I just fell in love with the environment and the fans. I like the program and I like what they represent.”

Another school that has been very active recruiting Jackson is Arizona, and Jackson is intrigued with the Wildcats.

“It has been a great relationship,” said Jackson of Arizona. “I love Coach (Sean) Miller and Coach (Joe) Pasternack, they are great guys. What I love about Arizona is that they bring in talented guys and make them better. The year before last they were undefeated for a long time.”

Jackson also added, “Coach Miller clearly knows what he is doing out there. It seems like a situation that I would definitely like to be a part of.”

Also in the Pac 12 is UCLA. The Bruins have been active recruiting Jackson, and he likes what he has seen out of them.

“UCLA is a great school,” noted Jackson. “I have been watching them since they had Russell Westbrook and even before. I love the history of the program and their style of play. I think I would thrive in Coach (Steve) Alford’s system.”

As of now there is no timeframe for Jackson to make his decision, but he does know narrowing it down further is going to be difficult.

“I have no idea how we narrow it down further,” said Jackson. “Again I don’t feel like I would regret going to any of those 10 schools. They all seem like they would be great schools, but now I just need to figure out which one will be the best for me.”
