Auburn is added to Jackson's list

Bruce Pearl has always been a force on the recruiting trail, and now he is on the list of one of the best prospects in the country.

There might not be a better player in the entire country than 2016 forward Josh Jackson. The do it all native of Detroit is one of the best athletes you will see and very skilled to go along with it. Now Bruce Pearl has Auburn in the thick of things in his recruitment.

At first it didn’t seem like the Tigers would be much of a factor for Jackson. He publically named nine schools as finalists for his services, none of which were Auburn. However after a tremendous showing at the Under Armour Association event in New Orleans, that changed.

“I actually have 10 schools now,” said Jackson. “I don’t know what I was thinking not putting Auburn in there. Those 10 schools I think all would be a great fit for me, and I don’t think any school that I choose to go to I would regret.”

The reason for the addition of Auburn to Jackson’s list was simple, Bruce Pearl.

“I just love the coaching staff at Auburn,” said Jackson. “I did a lot of research on Coach Pearl when he was at Tennessee. Even before he got the super talented guys, he was always in the top five in the nation, and I like the way he makes his guys play.”

He continued about Auburn, “I feel like I would be a good asset to the team with how they play, and that I would thrive under his supervision.”

From here Jackson knows that he will have to narrow down his list from 10 to 1, but he also knows that will not be an easy process.

“I have no idea how we narrow it down further,” said Jackson. “Again I don’t feel like I would regret going to any of those 10 schools. They all seem like they would be great schools, but now I just need to figure out which one will be the best for me.”

In terms of what he is going to look for in a school, Jackson said, “I just want to go to a school where the coaches would care about me and the team, and a place where I can win a national championship.”

Currently Jackson ranks as the No. 2 overall prospect in the class of 2016.
