Duval makes strong statement

Class of 2017 star Trevon Duval is off to an excellent start this AAU season.

Five-star class of 2017 point guard Trevon Duval made a strong statement this weekend running with We R 1 at the Under Armour Association. The talented guard showed off his significant skill, and why is one of the top players in his class.

At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds Duval has the ability to play either guard spot, and he showed that over the weekend as We R 1 and Duval both played well.

“I think I have played well,” said Duval of the weekend. “As a team we came out slow, but we picked it up and got three in a row. I have been working hard on my outside shot and on being a leader.”

Recruiting wise some of the top schools in the country are very interested in Duval.

Syracuse, Villanova, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Connecticut, and Louisville have all been calling a lot,” said Duval.

When it comes to the Syracuse, Duval said, “They have great guards and they play that 2-3 zone. It helps them to get out and run, and I like the coaches a lot.”

Villanova also has a history of excellent guard play, and that is something that is very intriguing to Duval.

“Villanova is a good school that has a tradition of great guards,” explained Duval. “Also their coaches do a good job of developing players.”

Louisville has also been active in recruiting Duval, and he is fond of the Cardinals program.

“Louisville is great,” he explained. “They run a lot and play hard on defense. They are one of the best teams in the country and have a Hall of Fame coach.”
