Nichols picks Tulane

Three-star wing Kipper Nichols made a surprise selection on Thursday night.

He made Ed Conroy and the Tulane Green Wave coaches sweat it out for a while, but in the end they were able to get their man. On Thursday night Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward forward Kipper Nichols selected Tulane.

As one of the best remaining wings in the 2015 class, Nichols was beginning to really pick up attention. Butler and Northwestern made sure to track him very closely as a senior, and both were pushing for him to come to their school.

However after taking a fall visit to Tulane, and through a lot of hard work, Nichols picked the American Conference school.

"Blessed proud and excited to be able to say that I will be attending Tulane University," Nichols announced. "Ready to go do great things down south!"

Nichols is a talented 6-foot-6 forward who can play small forward, some power forward, and potentially down the road some shooting guard as well. He combines toughness with above average athleticism and a great ability to get to the rim off the bounce to be an excellent offensive player, and then on defense he is more than solid as well.

This commitment is one that should give Tulane some of the necessary fire power to make a run in the American.
