Offers coming in for Keita
This spring and summer Sedee Keita will be running on the AAU circuit with We R 1. The talented 6-foot-9 and 225 pound Keita is off to a good start to the spring, and offers are beginning to come in. “I feel like we are playing pretty well as a team,” said Keita. “We have some players who are away for school so we aren’t able to practice as much right now, but we are coming together well and I think we have a lot of good players.” He continued, “Personally I am playing pretty well. I know I can play better, but I have been working on my hook shot with Coach Will (Finch) and also on my pick and pop game. Also I am making sure I am more consistent.” Recruiting wise Keita opened up a lot of eyes at the Under Armour Association event in New Orleans, and has since had many schools staying in close contact with him. “Auburn who I visited last week unofficially, Xavier, Mississippi State, Kansas, Syracuse, UNLV, St. Louis, and a few other schools are showing me interest,” noted Keita. According to Keita the visit to Auburn was productive, and he came away very impressed with Tigers boss Bruce Pearl. “It was a good trip,” said Keita. “I really liked Coach Pearl. I liked the staff and the campus for sure they were really nice. I was most impressed with Coach Pearl. He helped Tennessee turn their program around and brought them to the NCAA Tournament every year.” The interest from Xavier is relatively new, but Keita is intrigued by the Big East school. “I don’t know a ton about Xavier, but Coach (Travis) Steele has been contacting me a lot,” said Keita. “Also they have recruited a couple of guys from my AAU program, and it is a school I am very interested in.” In terms of any other upcoming visits, Keita said, “I’m not sure of any other visits. I know I want to visit Syracuse, but I haven’t set that up yet.”
