UW working on Young

Solomon Young has used a productive high school career to pick up serious attention from a Pac-12 program. Here's the latest on the 2016 post's recruitment.

A productive undersized post at 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, 2016 Sacramento (Calif.)'s Solomon Young has garnered plenty of recruiting attention over the last couple of years.

Young uses his strength and motor to make plays under the basket but can also rebound and step outside and hit jumpers.

He's pleased with how his game is developing.

"It’s coming along each game," Young said. "I feel like I’m progressing but I want to play better."

As of now, there is one school doing the best job recruiting Young.

"Washington is recruiting me the hardest," he said. "I’m hearing from a few other schools but Washington is on me the most.

"I like the relationship we’ve built over the years. I’ve taken a visit there and it’s a really good environment."

Even though Washington is working hard on Young, he's still listening to others.

"I’m keeping things open still," Young said. "I’m just going to see which schools are interested and then make a decision later."

Young's plan is to not drag out his recruitment too long.

"I’m not going to wait too long," he said. "I want to play this summer but I’ll probably make it before my senior year of high school."
