Swanigan no longer headed to MSU

Caleb Swanigan is no longer headed to Michigan State.

It was a surprise when Caleb Swanigan announced for Michigan State at the Nike Hoops Summit, and now the five-star center has made another surprise move. Scout.com's Evan Daniels has confirmed that Swanigan has de-committed from Michigan State.

Over the past few weeks news was made when Swanigan wouldn't sign his Letter of Intent to attend Michigan State, however sources inside the camp made it clear the plan was to never sign a Letter of Intent and not to worry that he was headed to MSU.

However that appears to no longer be the case as Swanigan de-committed. Now the two likely spots for Swanigan are Purdue and California. Most expected Swanigan to pick California the first time around when he selected the Spartans, but they are no lock at this point.

Swanigan's father Roosevelt Barnes played football and basketball at Purdue, and West Lafayette is only a short drive from Swanigan's home in Fort Wayne. Still the Golden Bears have a connection through Swanigan's friends Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb.

The expectation is for Swanigan to decide again fairly soon.
