Walton picks Missouri

It didn't take K.J. Walton long to figure out that Missouri was the right place for him.

It was a tremendous senior season for Brownsburg (Ind.) senior K.J. Walton. The 6-foot-3 scoring guard put up huge numbers and showed improvement all across the board. With that Missouri came calling, and that made Walton pull the trigger and commit.

"I have a real good relationship with Coach (Rob) Fulford, and I just felt like I fit in," said Walton. "Missouri is a good school with good facilities and the relationship that I had with the coaches was excellent."

At different points in time during the process Xavier, Cincinnati, and Minnesota all showed serious interest in Walton, but Missouri stayed persistent until the end.

After a down year last season, Missouri wanted to find added scoring, and they feel that Walton can bring that to them.

"I know they want me to come in and provide scoring help because they struggled with that last year," explained Walton. "I think I can fit in well with Teki (Gil-Caesar) and Terrence Phillips who is from Oak Hill. I just think I fit in perfectly with what they are asking."

Walton is a four-star prospect and was one of the best available players in the country.
