2018 Intro: Taeshon Cherry

Taeshon Cherry is one of the West Coast's top prospects in 2018. Here's an intro to his game and recruitment.

One of the West Coast’s better prospects in 2018 is 6-foot-8, 200-pound San Diego St. Augustine forward Taeshon Cherry.

An athletic forward, Cherry is currently a face up four who can play inside and out. He has nice touch in the paint or can knock down jumpers, while he also has a nice feel as a rebounder and blocks shots.

“I think I shoot the ball really well, I can get to the basket, I block shots and rebound. I run the floor as hard as I can and play 110% every game,” Cherry said. “I think I need to stay in front of the ball more and play better defense.”

Cherry has had a handful of schools reach out to him so far.

“I’m getting interest from Arizona, Virginia, SDSU, Kansas, Pepperdine and UC Irvine,” he said.

There are two schools that Cherry grew up rooting for.

“I grew up a fan of Kansas and Arizona,” he said. “I like Kansas’ coach and style of play Arizona gets very good players and Sean Miller is my favorite coach.”
