Murphy to Minnesota
Jordan Murphy, one of the best available forwards in the 2015 recruiting class, verbally committed to Richard Pitino and Minnesota on Friday. A source close to the situation informed Scout of the news. Murphy took an official visit to Minnesota earlier in the weekend. The Gophers beat out Boston College, Florida, Indiana, Tennessee and others for the commitment. Originally, Murphy, a 6-foot-6 forward, signed with VCU when Shaka Smart was the head coach of the Rams. Pitino now has six commitments in his 2015 recruiting class. Ahmad Gilbert pledged to Minnesota in late April. They also hold commitments from Kevin Dorsey, Dupree McBrayer, Jarvis Johnson and Jonathan Nwankwo.
